It rained last night, WTF did it do to my paint!??

Well....

Looks like its the worst case scenario. Took it the auto body shop who've been in business 40+ years and they "Have never seen anything like it".

Whatever was in the rain soaked through the clear coat and ate away the paint. Their best guess was as good as ours in that the hood must have been improperly painted at some point.

Guess we can chalk this one up to the unknowns of buying a used vehicle. Only solution looks to get the hood repainted. They gave me a quote of $429 which sounds a tad high, but given the quality of their work I'd pay the extra. But as of now, there are more important things I need to deal with first.

That actually seems about right... ~$70 for the base ~$90 for clear rest for labor and materials...

$429 seems right for quality work. Had my roof taken down to bare metal/repainted last spring for $500.

Or you could get a carbon wrap for like 150 lol

Cool, thats good to know! I dunno why I said its high, the breakdown of the pricing he gave me makes sense. Guess I'm just butt hurt, haha. Thanks guys.
