hi guys, i'm new here. got my 2007 g35 BASE COUPE(i think i got the right model name) also my first car . as many other guys, i dont like the stock brake kit so im thinking about getting new brake and set of 20" wheel. but i dont know what size and what kind of brake will fit in my car. i like Drilled rotor, red caliper ( of course). so anyone know what is the maximun size of brake for 20" wheel? i just use my car for daily driving so i dont need a high end performent brake, just for looking. i think the akebono brake kit is a good one, it's 14" rotor front and 13.8" rear. but im not sure how big is it gonna look like. so i prefer the biggest one to fit in 20" wheel.
here is the wheel im gonna get: http://www.carid.com/motiv-wheels/40...-11440574.html
pls help the noob here

anh_vo, welcome to the Forum, I wish my first car would have been something as sweet as a G. Congratulations, I am sure what ever brakes you pick will look great with those wheels. Post a picture of your G. If you are not looking for performance and just looks, consider getting your new wheels with a nice set of tires and paint your current calipers red. Of course, if money is not an issue, get yourself a nice set of performance brakes.
here it is.
The things is I'm not sure what kind of brake will fit in my car. and yes, my budget is limited. i can't afford a Brembo kit and who's crazy enough to put a 8000$ brake kit on a 15000$ car btw. so i think the Akebono BBK is a good choice. only thing that i dont really like is the Akebono is only 14" front and 13.8" rear, cause it's gonna look stupid, weak on 20" wheels (or im just picky). So do you recomend any other brake kit?.
one more side question. what is the different between G35 base and G35 sport with brembo, and why the base version cant fit the brembo brake?
The Ake's are a great choice for the price. The rotors won't look weak behind 20's, most of the other popular more expensive BBK's use the same size rotors. You could also look for a used Brembo kit which should cost around $1000.

Thank you. Btw my G is non-brembo (i believe so) so the brembo kit wont fit but the Akebono BBK will fit perfectly right? Idk what is the different between brembo and non-brembo, i just know that one wont fit the other

The OEM brembo's (calipers & rotors) that came with the 03/04 models will fit on your car. I believe the Akebono's will require adapter brackets.

Akebono's will require adapters for the front brakes, and an 19" wheel at minimum (although some 18's do fit like the 2nd gen Enkie 18's.
The 03-04 Brembos are not much different in diameter than the 05-07 brake setup. Performance won't be much of a difference as well. It's really a "bling bling" change to swap 03-04 brembos on unless you plan on road racing the car. Then the extra 1/2" of diameter and the large multi piston calipers might come in handy. Brembos tend to shine better at road racing type situations, and in a simple 60MPH to zero highway stop, may not be much better than the OEM 07 brakes. The thicker rotors and larger calipers resist heat better, but the type of heat that comes over repeated stops...if you understand what I mean here.
Since you are more interested in appearance, the 14" Akebono brakes might be a better solution, although the initial cost would be higher. You will need adapter brackets though.
As for the rims, that's a personal thing. I personally would take the OEM 19" rays over most aftermarket 20's any day....however in the stock finish.
