The G drift build thread

So I decided it is time i post a build thread. I bought this car literally 1 year ago. When I got it the guy was parting it out so it had no brakes, no front end, no dash, no seats, missing interior parts, no suspension, and the motor was not running right.

So my goal was to get the car together and make it to round 1 loan star drift last year, not to compete but just to drive. I finished the car the night before at 11pm. Car had been sitting over a year and first time driving it was at 8pm the night before. Ended up driving it all the way from San Antonio to Houston. Everything went great, in fact even at the event both days the car ran and preformed great. Well threw the year I ended up doing a lot of work. So let me see if I can find the pics and post up what all happened and the massive amount of fab work going on now for this year.

This is when I first cleaned it out and tried a sparco seat out. I was not 100% happy with how it fit me so I sold it and went with OMP.

Here I was putting in some engine work, I powder coat so coated the intake manifold, painted the engine as well.

So I joined up with the Non Stop Tuning team, I got a set of Non Stop Tuning pullys, and all I can say is I SWEAR by there. Even there short shifter is great. For the price the results are awesome!

I also powder coated the spindles to match the plenum.

Here is after I got a new front end, some was donated by awesome people!

Installed some TEIN inner and outer tie rods, also removed my bump stop.

Got my Grip Royal and NRG shifter in.

Toe strap which to this day I still have not put on the car. But about to this week.

Then this, I love gold!

Finally started coming together.

On the ground, got some M45 D2 coil overs for $300

Some cross drilled and slotted brakes.

My daughter trying to drift.

Checking out some wheels, ended up picking them up.

Picked up some front adjustable sway bad ends.

Finishing up from the first loan star drift event. My grandparents met me in Houston and trailed the car back.

At loan star. Nate Hamilton

Got my PBM hydro Ebrake in and installed

Then this

And then this

Made it out to nevrslo round 1 drift series in the car. I ended up take and sitting in 5th for the series.

Was having some over heating issues at Nevrslo so ordered this. Found out when I was installing the new fans that the old ones one of the connections broke. only 1 fan was working.

This was the night before heading to corpus for an event. Ended up taking 2nd in the event after my maf sensor went out in the finals.

Here is a pic at the end. Hit a cone that was in the middle of the track, it ripped my front bumper off and my lower radiator hose off. Luckily was last pull for the event.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! My family all pitched in and bought my chromoly cage!

This brings us to this week. Since Loan star drift season is coming up in march, decided to tare the car down and get some stuff for it, and hopefully get some sponsors to help with the season. So here is what is going on with the car now.

I need to get some metal screen to cover the cuts in the trunk. I also need to make the brackets for the radiator and pick up the piping to run to the front of the car. I am doing a custom brake setup, with an adjustable brake proportion valve. I also have a stage 3 clutch coming in soon so I can put the motor back in. Also going to be running motel 660 full synthetic Dot 4 in my clutch. I have been having issues with fluid getting hot and loosing pressure.

Got some awesome news today, Got picked up by DEI!!! So I am going to be ordering some stuff from there here soon. Thinking about spraying 125 shot instead of switching to turbo. IDK, being that I am going to be going V8 this year turboing is a lot of work. Well my clutch should come in today. Also my lexan for my rear window. It should of last night but was too much work for fedex to get out to actually drop off. Said i was not there. Well here is a pic of brake lines. Just need a fitting for one of the lines.
