If they went with the same top coat color as the original color the price wouldn't be too outrageous. Plus, fall/winter is the time of year where they get the least business and offer the best prices. Does it look like a cheap job? Ask for pictures of door jams and the trunk popped open.

That makes sense - thanks. I'll ask for pictures of the jambs before making the trip to check it out. Thanks again!

Yeah 2800 wouldn't be too bad if it was the same coat color. I recently got a paint job done and insurance quoted me a little over 5000 for the paint job so I brought it somewhere expensive. I know many places that would've charged much less for good quality. Maybe you can look up the shop and see the reviews? But at the end of the day it's if you like the paint or not. Also I have an 07 coupe. I don't really have the engine oil burning problem but it does tend to burn some oil in the summer when the temperature is very hot. It doesn't burn nearly as bad as my friend's nonrevup motor though.

Quick follow up question, guys...

From what I understand, all 07 & 08 6MT's came with the sport package (stiffer suspension). Is this correct?

I ask because both cars that I'm looking at right now have aluminum pedals, orange stitching in the steering wheel, Rays 19" wheels, etc. One has a spoiler & one does not. Neither appear to have a sunroof.

Is this just a matter of different options, or is one (or neither) actually equipped with the sport suspension?

Thanks for the help with the noob questions!

Do you mean 06-07? They both have sport if it has orange stictching.

G's wuthout sunroofs are rare and sought after. All manual 05-07 are sport package.

Oops! Yes, I mean 06-07 (although both that I'm looking at are 07s). Thought so, but neither owner could tell me if it had the sport package for sure. Thanks for clearing that up!

Sorry - another noob question.

I looked at an 07 today, and the owner mentioned that it has a single intake non-HR motor.

I thought all 07s had the HR... Or am I confused? Also, what is the rev-up if different?

All variations on the vq35de I assume?

Thanks again!

03/4 had the non rev-up VQ35DE regardless of transmission. 05-07 auto coupes and 05-06 auto sedans also had a non-rev.

05-07 6mt coupes and 05-06 6mt sedans had the VQ35DE rev-up

07-08 sedans had the VQ35HR which has the dual intakes.

Okay, thanks. That's what I understood from Google as well.

...So since this was a 2007 6mt coupe, should I assume that the seller was either lying about it being non-rev up, had no idea what he was talking about, or had a motor swap at some point?

His selling point was "10MPG fuel economy improvement" over the alternative rev up motors & that it "took him a year of searching" to find a non rev up 07 6mt coupe.

Thanks again guys.

You should be happy to find a G with a fresh paint job as the OEM paint on these cars are shitty to say the least especially if not cared for correctly. $2800 sounds like a fine price as I was quoted around $3200 for a respray on my old (obsidian black) G from a reputable body shop.
