Exhaust Drone Cure

Hello, has anyone here had exhaust drone after straight piping their exhaust or going aftermarket and then attempted to fix it by adding "J Pipe". I love the way my exhaust sounds but it can be pretty difficult to talk in the car with all of the drone. The shop that installed exhaust told me that they can do a dual j pipe setup for $160 and this sounds like a good price to me. Does anyone know how effective these would be and if they would change the sound/loudness of my exhaust on the outside of the car?

The trick is finding the exact length to the "J" pipe. I watched a YouTube about it. The had a couple of "J" pipes that were adjustable, they just tacked them on and then tuned them till they got the right sound, then put the permanent pipes of the same length on. The idea is to create a "standing wave" the cancels some of the exhaust pulse. Each exhaust is different.

I actually have a gtr catback exhaust on mine (no muffler). My drone is crazy between about 2200-2800 rpm. I think I need about a 30' j pipe. Is that right? And how does it work with the sizes if they do two because they said that's what they would do?

Theres not much space to work with under my car because the resonators on my exhaust are huge. Do you have a muffler on yours?

They cut out the resonators and added the xpipe In place of them.

Wow I didn't know that they could be adjustable without cutting them and welding them. Thanks I appreciate That. I according to the chart I saw on the link you posted think I need between 28-30' do you know if I should just put a bigger one like 35' to be safe or would that not be effective?

Ohhhh okay I really don't want to remove my resonators. I love the sound they give minus the drone and they were hard to find.

I don't think you would need one as long as, say, a big block chevy. The thing is, you MUST get the length right, because you must hit the sound pulse exactly.

Okay thanks. I definitely think im somewhere between 28 and 32 from all my research online. Because I would say my drone is between 2200 and 2800 so my worse drone would be considered 2500rpm. Im just not sure how getting 2 jpipes vs 1 jpipe works. I guess they would both need to be 28-32' (This car is my first that I did aftermarket exhaust work on).
