headlight damage

I just recently purchased an 04 g35 lr. Headlights show signs of heat damage on both sides. Thinking of upgrading to 06 oem headlights but before I do I must solve this situation. Help me out with some info.

Wow that is like nothing I've ever seen. What is the situation under the hood? Like does your coolant system work fine and is the engine in strong operating condition?

I dont think that can be fixed. If yoy open the light yp and clean it your gonna see the melted plastic. Get another light and see what caused that. Could be a bad balast or wrong bulb .

Looks like the previous owner put the wrong bulbs in and burnt the headlights up. Upgrading to '06 projectors I'd also replace the balasts rather than switching them like most of us did, just in case! This upgrade is the best mod you can make for a first gen G35 coupe!

The engine is fine. Not over heating and still running strong. The check engine light is not on. . Garey does bring up a good point. I'll check the bulbs.

Sorry, man, there is no "solution" to this other than to replace the light, or at the very least the lens. Lots of dumb kids try to customize their lights by baking them to release the glue that holds the lens to the housing. I promise you that this problem is the result of some complete idiot overbaking them and melting the lens itself. The problem with these cars now is there are lots of second generation retards. I'm sorry that you're the recipient.

The cheapest solution would be to buy some cheap garbage eBay headlights for a couple hundo, bake the lens off of them (correctly) and reseal the lens on your OEM housing.

I found some replicas on Amazon nothing fancy look identical to my stock headlights is there a reason why I should bake my oem headlight and switch lenses? And could this be a result of a wrong bulb installed or defected ballist ?

The cheap lights have gaps in the rubber sealant and don't seal all that great. I did my lenses.

That looks pretty bad. Someone didn't know what they were doing with that headlight.

Just buy a new OEM (06 if possible). A little pricey but worth the investment.

2nd option is an aftermarket headlight set from Ebay. they'll be slightly cheaper but may not look or work as good as OEM. I have aftermarket headlights on mine with the projectors, but the low beams are way off alignment.
