theres a sticky in these forums where a guy dynoed ALOT of different setups. Long story short he concluded the best thing was the OEM setup. if i remember correctly.

Never happened to me, I had the NISMO long tube intake. I just worried about water getting sucked up and then there were the mice eating the bypass valve....

You're doing it wrong!

Do you have any how many members here have long tube intakes? Your issue was having the filter to close to the air flow sensor disturbing/shutting down the air flow! You want that filter as far away as possible, at the end of the intake tube!

TL;DR

OEM and a fresh air filter is all you need.

Tex, with my Fujita intake and it's long tube I can push the AMSOIL cone filter into the left corner where it picks up fresh air from my KurumaZ bumper! You all know how much our G35s love cool air.

Yes, that's what I did at first, I even cut out a bit of the black plastic behind the lower grill in front of the filter for more cold air. I just worried about sucking up water with all the rain we have ben having. Easy to switch back, just need to replace the mouse eaten by pass valve.

all nwp dynos I see are just dropping the tb in and not tuning for it.... the Maxima guys have been switching to a larger tb and larger intake for years... and they've had the VQ longer than us.... it's not like the formula of air + fuel = combustion doesn't apply to G35's. as with anything done to our G's, a tune should be implemented in order to see any type of gain.

I currently run a Stillen intake and oem Tb, I plan on doing a tune soon, and maybe I can get the shop to throw on the nwp tb and my Furookie and retune same day. I'll keep everyone posted.

I always thought the g/350z engines were tuned almost maxed out that is why we see so little gains with breather mods. unlike the vqs on Altima, maxima etc have less hp cus theyre detuned and have more margin for improvement. some **** like that

I actually plan on upgrading the intake plenum to a Kinetix Velocity Manifold and pair it with my NWP TB + 3.5" Furookie. We shall see what happens.
