6MT 04 / 05 Pricing Scenarios (PLEASE ADVISE !)

Hi Everyone,

Just got back from a dealer in PA and got some hard numbers. I would appreciate any advice ! If you know a dealer in NJ or PA, who can get me a better deal, please let me know Also, could someone recommend the best place to go for financing? I know a credit union is my best option for the lowest rate; my fico score is 661.

Im in in same situation as you are. Just got back from infiniti of ardmore and got qouted about the same. I was looking to pay $500 over invoice as that's what some people have been paying here on the forum. The sales guy was cool, but the manager was an a-hole. He came over told me he has no reason to sell the car to me for $500 over invoice n left. Guess imma try willow grove next.
If your in the philly area, perhaps we can go in together and have more bargaining leverage.

Thats how you buy a car! $500 over is not that great of a deal. Sometimes its cheaper to buy from afar and have it shipped. Even with shipping costs it will come out lower than your local dealer, thats what I did. Got lucky and they shipped it for free.

Credit Unions are usually the best places for car loans, unless the dealer can offer you a promotional rate. You are looking at either a tier 2 or 3 interest rate based on a rate matrix for your credit score. The rate matrix will be different at every institution. You would be approved at 8.79% for 60 months at the CU where I work. We also have 72 and 84 months available at slightly higher rates. Most credit unions in your area should be similar. Shop around for rates(check web sites for your local credit unions), but don't apply unless you are serious about financing. Inquires during loan shopping will drop your credit score, which may increase your interest rate. The dealership will also run you through at least 3 lending companies to see if at least one will approve you. They usually go with the lowest rate approved, which are usually higher than you will receive at a credit union. Check your local credit unions and check with the dealer to see if they have any promotional rates. Good luck with your purchase.

I got my '04 about a week ago for aobut 2k under invoice and they DO still have the 1.9/2.9 financing for the '04 Coupe but not the '05.

I went for the '04 cause I liked the brembos and the good financing.

Score of a 661 will not get you a good rate..... you need atleaset 720+ to be "well-qualified"

I thought $500 over invoice for a 05 was good. If you know of a dealer that is willing to sell for less with the shipping charge, please let me know.

Wow, thanks everyone for all the replies!!

These quotes were actually from the Willow Grove Dealership! When you hit the showroom, you will see the 04 I was talking about. I dealt with a very nice salesman, but the prices were high compared to what people have paid on this forum. Maybe getting together isn't such a bad idea.

I just got a 05 sedan 6mt at Holman Infiniti in Maple Shade,Nj. Although it was a vpp purchase they were extremely nice and helpful. I dealt with Jim Lee sales mgr and saleman Kevin. They had at least 4 6mt coupes and 2 sedans I believe. Also when I went to pick up my car a guy was there buying a fx. We had a small chat about the fx and such. He said the reason he purchased at Holman was because they brushed him off at the Ardmore.

I pulled my report before I went in and it was 733, when I got to the dealer when he pulled my report he said I'd have "no problems", which I didn't.

You may be right about the 720 though, i have no clue.
