Did all 05-06 6mt had oil consumptions?
Found a clean 06 6mt with 60k miles. Original owner said he never noticed any oc issues between oil changes every 3k. Should I be worry it'll eventually have it?? I tried searching the Internet and can't seem to find any info of people that didn't have oc issues.
I do see some high mileage 05-06 for sale on Craigslist so I wonder was it every motor during those years that had a defect or it was just certain ones?? I don't think I'll have an issue adding half a qt to a qt every 1-2k miles but It seems some people lose about a qt at only 200 miles.
So please chime in if you never had serious OC issues with your revup motors. Thanks

I can only speak for myself but I purchased my 05 Revup and the previous owner already had a replacement engine put in at around 40k due to the OC. Now that replacement engine is at around 80k (when I bought it). After the first oil change using synthetic Mobil 1 5w/30 I've put on 2,500 miles and my oil level is down probably 1/3 of a quart.
I know most people only post issues on forums but I can't seem to find any info about people who didn't have problems with their revup 6mt. Would like to know if it do exist or every single motor from the factory those years were basically defects.
Not sure I'd believe an owner that said they didn't notice the OC issue! If their REVUP G doesn't have OC the answer s/b, No it doesn't use oil between changes! If you like the car and the price is right, take it to Nissan and have a compression test done to prove it isn't suffering from OC...Gary

06 6mt with 178k miles on the clock and counting. 1/2qt low at 3k miles seems to be normal for all Nissan/Infiniti vehicles I've owned since 2000. Only started getting more than normal OC in the passed 6 months, after doing a 1,000 mile road trip in a fully loaded car averaging 75-85 mph the whole way. Was down almost a whole quart after that. Now I'm at about 3/4qt low at 3k miles, I just top off and maintain my 5k oil change interval since I purchased the car.
Other than this often repeated "issue" on the forums, I actually know more people with 03/04 cars that burn a qt every 1k miles than I do revup drivers with problems.
