2005 fast or 2015 fast? I understand there is a difference.

The Takeda Retain Intake is a short ram air intake intake system. In recent testing this intake produced 19hp and 16lbs. x ft. of torque. Takeda intakes are constructed out of lightweight clear coat anodized tubing for maximum air flow and a great style. Each intake uses a large 360 degree high flow Pro DRY S air filter for maximum flow, filtration and convenience. The Pro DRY S air filter requires no oils and cleans with simple soap and water. Takeda intakes come complete with all tubing, filters, couplers and hardware for an easy installation.

Yea right speed, this sounds like all the adds from 10 years ago claiming hp/torque gains from intakes. Claims might be true with some cars that are poorly engineered just not our Infiniti G35s! And then there's the exposed filter and anodized tubing which will cause major hp loss once it gets hot! Nothing worse that getting left at the stoplight by a '80s VW bus!

Sound like a marketing guy...

Exposed air filter in engine bay plus aluminum tubing?

OEM intake is well designed. Z-tube plus drop in K&N is all you need. Add in a motordyne intake spacer to address the starvation of the two front cylinders and there is really not much else you can do to the intake system of these cars. It was well designed from the factory to begin with.

Only way infiniti was able to improve on it was the dual throttlebody setup on the 3.7L.

You have to be either new to cars or trolling.

1. That 'dyno' from the manufacturer is completely fake. Pretty much every company (except for motordyne) uses fake dynos. A dyno is extremely easy to manipulate by changing correction factors, using big fans, temps, etc. I can easily dyno a car before and after with 20hp gain without changing a single part on the car.

2. All short rams are the same exactly the same. Some have heat shield like JWT, but will eventually heat soak as well. The only real difference between short ram intakes is looks. They give almost zero gain without piggyback or retune. Most you'll see is 5hp which is negligible and can't be felt.

3. All cars are different. Even if they did post a real dyno, it wouldn't really matter. You car won have exact same results. Only way to know is if you do before and after dynos yourself.

well i'm not a sales man, and I would consider myself a car guy. I'm not a complete idiot, and yes I understand people and company's give better numbers to sell there products but this was def a good gain in the feeling end of my car if anything then. The pics and the description I posted was from takeda's website. I wasn't expecting huge gains from a bolt on intake but for the money I am very happy.
