Filling Gas

Hey guys, I have just noticed that i can only put in 15 gallons of gas now a days. but i use to put in about 18 gallons of gas before...i heard that if u empty the gas tank before u put in gas again it hurts the fuel pump and fuel line ... is that true?
Is there any problem with my gas tank?i put 3 gallon less than before?

So are you saying the guage is off and it's not really empty when it's saying it is?

Yep, not cool. But if it's gotta be off, please let it be off in that direction and not running me out of fuel

Check out this thread it's about the same thing. GRider35c said it's the sending unit.

there can be 2 things wrong here (i experienced both on my old G):

1. your fuel tank needs replacing because you can only fill your tank to half (something is sticking)
2. your sending units need replacing because theyre inaccurate
