Only 250HP?
Only 250HP?
So I have an 2006 CB G35 Coupe 5AT with the sports package. the mods I currently have are...
So I had my car tuned after this and its only like 243 MAX HP Maybe I'm reading the dyno sheet wrong... but I see coupes without these mods saying they have 310HP. Do they think they have 300hp but they really don't?
- Borla Catback Exhaust
- ART Pipes
- 5/16th Copper spacer
- grounding kit
- ztube
- Pop Charger

Your numbers are correct. You should always do a baseline first, really the delta is all that matters.
Dynojet, Dynapack, Mustang, Dyno Dynamics all will give very different numbers. Also without a piggyback and tune, bolt ons provide very little gains. The stock ecu will only adjust the fuel a small amount for the added airflow, to maximize gain you have to adjust a/f with a tune.
But in general Dynojet is the standard. Mustang dyno will read ~12% lower than Dynojet, Dyno Dynamics will read about 15% lower than Dynojet, Dynapack will read 8-10% higher than Dynojet.
A stock revup G35 will usually dyno around 230-240hp / 215tq on dynojet and around 210-220 hp on mustang dyno. Ive seen non revup G35s dyno around 170-180 hp on mustang dyno. Anyone claiming 300-320hp with boltons has very very generous dyno (ie the shop uses adjustment factors to give big numbers to make customers happy). An operator can easily add 10-20hp just by changing correction factors and adding large fans.

50hp gain with bolt-ons is pretty much impossible on the G35, sorry. If you have an uprev tune plus that first mod list, youve pretty much maxed out. 25-30hp is the typical gains for full bolt on and tune.
If you want to know what type of dyno they used, just call and ask them. Most likely it was a Dynojet.

be glad you have 243hp. my 5at sedan with plenum, timing mod via a tune is only getting 215 at the wheels on a dynapack.
the stock non-anniversary edition vq35de makes 287**(lie) at the crank ... drop the 20% drivetrain loss and your at a very common 220-230 hp at the wheels *factory fresh*
NOW ... *MOST* auto-vq35de's I see tested end up 195-215Whp on average most being on the low 200hp side. why ? pre-2007 nissan used a older SAE certification to rate the engines power. that rating is off by quite a bit. so like you some people get quite a shock when it is **properly** dyno'd.
A number of rigs already dyno'd end up 15-20 under when done more accurately. but as always ymmv ... dynos people and ***** braggin.
If you got 35-40hp from just doing the art+exhaust, plenum and a tune you came out pretty dam good for a auto.

all that really matters is if you like driving your car.
once i sc my g35 i will have it dyno tuned. but only to mark in the a/f ratio to the rang of the rpms. i literally do not care at all what the number is. as long as you enjoy it. who gives a ****.

Trying to read that post gave me cancer.
I don't think Gary has a tune. But then again I am guessing. Not even sure what he did to his car. Lol. But I had my car tune at stillen at 379 with the SC and went to churches automotive and read 354. Not sure what happen there between the 2 dynos but churches was suppose to read higher. After awhile I just had my car retune at churches and now pushing 430 which is more alive now.
