Shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd *tiptronic*

I use Tiptronic all the time, shame on you if you don't. And I notice a very rough shift from 3rd to 2nd downshift and sometimes I have to shift 2 or 3 times to get into 3rd even at 2500+rpms which should be plunty to get into 3rd!

Anyone hear of it? I'm i messing up my tranny by using tiptronic all the time?

Is your car a 05? If 03-04, you'll need to manually blip the throttle to get a
smooth downshift from 3-2. shift lever, tap throttle.

The manual-mode on these G's from my experience is that it is too computer
controlled...but I guess it saves the tranny from mis-shifts. (?)

I don't know about your problem from 2-3 why you can't shift up...perhaps
the map doesn't allow it because the RPM is too low for 3rd? not sure..

^ not to flame but try not to say those kind of things around here they tend to irritate hard working people such as myself. By the way i in no way mean that in a disrespectful or unfriendly manner.

your having a problem shifting from 2-3? thats odd. It maybe cuz your rpms arent high enough like someone mentioned. It is most noticeable when your trying to shift into 5th sometimes but you cant cuz your rpms are too low. And i think you said you have to push the shifter like 3 times before it shifts. sometimes the sensitivity of the shifter wears out, so make sure you push it all the way up/down. Yea i drive using tiptronic like 99.9% of the time too. I need a stick G...

anyways, using tiptronic doesn't hurt your tranny at all, unless of course you abuse it by shifting at wrong times or redlining, etc.

Sorry if this offended you? I've never drivin' a car before, im was just simply stating that it may have been from me not thinking clearly and doing some kinda wierd thing I dont know

I dont understand on how that offends you but sorry...

Well, I notice that it goes from 3 to first on its own, it never really hits 2nd when slowing down, so most of the time I let it downshift its self, But if i try to downshift from 3rd to 2nd is worse, I get a real nice jerk and sometimes even a snap sound when down shifting around 20-30mph, probably about 2500rpms

5th isn't a problem at all! I can get into 5th at 1400 RPMS and do so regulary on my 30mph road home.

I drove the car a bit and i just need to give it a little gas for the upshift, I was just being stupid
