Spin as in breaking traction or just turning in general? I'm assuming the wheels don't turn easily when off the ground?

I had the car raised so I could listen to the brakes and inspect them as they rotated while in neutral. I had a helper inspect while I lightly accelerated in drive but the VDC kept kicking in.

You can hear the brakes are not releasing because they are contacting the rotors as the wheel rotates. I'm somewhat at a loss as to what is preventing the pads from fully releasing.

I did notice that the brake pedal is a bit soft until I pump it a few times. I must still have some air in the lines as I have only bled the rears and not the fronts yet.

Is it possible the parking brake shoes are preventing the rotors from fully seating? I'm going to release the parking brake and check the backing plate again to make sure the rotor is fully seated.

Parking brake really shouldn't have anything to do with it. If your rotor wasn't seated, the rim wouldn't mount flush and you'd definitely know it as soon as you drove around the block.

First thing to do...properly bleed the brakes. With the engine off, if you pump the pedal a few times it should be rock hard. Any sponginess is not acceptable. Bleed bleed bleed.

Secondly, how are you confirming dragging brakes? Can you hear light scrapping? or is the drag enough that light casual driving is causing the rears to heat up more than the fronts.

How easy was it to slip the caliper over the rotor after compressing the pistons. Do they slide right on?

mbe32: I am having a similar problem, brake pads worn much more on my rear right and temperature of the rotor after driving is way higher, 900F once after 30 mins of highway driving. Rear left side was 150F.

have you pulled the brake apart to inspect?

Two suspected causes. Siezed caliper piston, or slide pins.
