Can I run 225/50/17 tires in rear?

Looking to buy winter tires. The affordable ones I want don't come in 235, so I was wondering if it would be alright to have 225's in the back.

225's in the rear are fine and in fact a narrower profile is desirable in the winter, but to keep the factory diameter, you'd be better off running 225/55-17. That's what I run in the winter.
