Buy salvage car to swap parts?
Does anyone have opinions on buying a salvaged car from an online auction and swapping out parts that you want? Like you can take the brembos or interior or any parts that might be broken and switch the parts out. Then you can part out the rest of the car and sell it on craigslist, online, or here. I don't know how to go about this, but it was just a thought I've had for awhile.

Sounds like a ton of fun as a project if you have the time, tools, work-space and know-how or at least the motivation to learn.
The only problem with an auction is that you're taking a risk without ever seeing it in person and being able to inspect it. You could buy a car hoping to swap out the drivetrain and find out that it has a rod knock or some other same major problem that the car you were planning on swapping the parts into already has.
I don't like to buy anything that's not brand new unless I can physically inspect it first or at least be provided some sort of no-hassle returns warranty or guarantee that it will be OK. Even with a warranty/guarantee, i wouldn't do this for a big-ticket item such as a car.... but yes for things like a used cell-phone, etc.
