Overheating !!!!!!!
#31
Ok so i picked the car up and after driving for about 15min the car temperature gauge began to rise...... Again. I parked it and punched the **** out of it out of frustration.
While driving heat was blowing hard and hot while accelerating but when idling or off gas the heat cooled back down.
The only thing i can think of is a faulty watet pump.
Should i let car sit overnight with radiator cap off?
Should i continue to just try to manually burp it as i been doing for last 3 weeks?
When taking funnel off do i immediately put radiator capp back on.?
I really dont know what the issue is?
Still overheating and heat not working properly.
BTW i took the car to MIDAS not the dealer.

Rent their radiator pressure tester and hook it to your radiator. Pump it to about 13psi and see if there any leaks or pressure lost.
You can try taking the water pump out to inspect it, but it's not for the faint of heart. You can skip a tooth or something then you'll have to take the whole timing cover off and reset the timing. I had a bad water pump and ended up having to do that, because I accidentally skipped a tooth.
Your fans work right?

hold on, What could this mean? Because I’ve been bleeding my system and refilling with antifreeze trying to squeeze out air, right now I just drained again and I do see a little layer of brown gunk inside the radiator funnel???

1.Ramp.
2. open rad cap and fill.
3. Fill bottle..
4. open cap near battery and fill until radiator flows
5. Put radiator cap on.
6. Fill heater core from cap near battery until it flows over...this is done a bit at a time by trickling into a funnel..you have to lift the funnel to let air pass.
7. Close cap.
Start engine and turn on heat....kill engine and let cool.
8. Refill as needed at the cap by the battery.

Brown gunk can mean oil is pushing past the HG into the coolant system, if it's just a tiny bit of residue then don't worry about it. If you drain the coolant and there's quite a bit of suspended oil then you have a problem.
If you don't see anything in the coolant when you drain it then don't worry about it.
