What to expect from high mileage g35?

I have had my car up for trade for sometime now.
I have been looking for a g35/350z for trade.
I valued my car at $4,000. It was some what of a long shot to get a g35coupe/350z for trade.
A sedan was more believable.

Some guy just contacted me wanting to trade his 03 g35 coupe. Yay!
Downside, its at 235k miles on the cluster with a "rebuilt" enigne clean title.

Im told the car runs good and has no issues, but i am worried if i do go with this trade i will run into issues with the drivetrain and be out of luck.

What do you guys think? Is this car past its life expectancy?
I know it depends on how a car was treated. I just have no clue what happened in the 235k miles. Looking to get some advice if this car is worth the trade before i check it out.
Thanks.

Without the proper docs supporting the "rebuild" and other upkeep in the maintenance aspect...I'd walk.
For peace of mind you'd have to replace the whole suspension with bushings, fluids, belts, plugs, filters, brakes...list goes on.

If he's got all the maintenance records (including carfax or autocheck), I would start from there. I would meticulously look at all the records from the first day he owned the car and compare it to manufacturers scheduled maintenance.

Next is that I would take it to a reputable mechanic to have everything inspected and go from there. I wouldn't buy what the seller is claiming "car runs good!".

Personally, miles don't matter to me as long as the car is well maintained and not abused. At 200k + miles, I wouldn't mind dealing with wear and tear parts (again all depending on the history).

What is your car to trade with btw?

Thank you for the replies Venom and deeliciousqueen.

Youre correct Venom. I am looking at the trade as the drivetrain has 235k original miles.
If he had proper paperwork i would most likely trade and deal with replacement or worn out parts. Suspension and drivetain maintance.

Deeliciousqueen, I am going to run a car fax and see if the car was well maintained up until the new owner(contacting me) bought it. Says he traded his rsx for it amd does not like it because its automatic. But may be more reasons why he wants to get rid of it.

The car i have up for trade is a 1995 acura integra special edition.
I just replaced the engine with a newer one with 45k miles, which i do have proper paper work for my new engine. You cant even here the starter turn before the engine is on.

I know the bare shells of each car, his is worth more, but i dont see selling his g35 for 4,000 with those miles on it.

Edit. Im looking at the car fax and there are 2 owners.
No service records abailable, only records available are for smog inspection.
This now new owner hasnt regitered the car yet and its showing actually 249k miles since 07/15. Nearly almost a year ago, I'm sure the car is somewhere in the 255-260k range. This G is out of the question for me without eninge paper work.
