Is your intake 3" throughout? If not, do that first.

Polishing would probably give minimal effects on the TB (provided you have a consistent flow throughout your intake). Someone please correct me if I am wrong

It may give a bit better throttle response, but you will probably not see any measurable gains. The gains you did get was with increased airflow by use of the larger throttle body. The problem with polishing the throttle body is the air is only allowed to increase in the tb itself. You would need do the same on both sides of it. Meaning polishing or replacing the 2 part upper manifold as well as polishing the lower one. Port matching will give gains as well, but they are still minimal until you put it all together. Then you have the filter side to consider.

You should be fine polishing just the tb, but you will probably get a larger gain by bypassing the coolant line than the actual polishing. Then again, you are only talking maybe 1-2 hp if even that. i am not sure if you can even accurately measure either with so many variables

I plan to replace the manifolds as well upper and lower and polish them, I hope to clean up the engine bay a little bit before I install all my polished/titanium stuff

Just remember to retune if you go larger on all your intake pieces. Stock mapping won't give you the best results.

When I was super involved with the Maxima forums, there were guys running 3 & 3.5" sets that were pushing 280+ HP and mid 12s with only bolt-ons and tunes (and DRs or slicks).

Tuning is what I will be doing in the near future. I just got my headers back from being thermally coated. That is the last piece of my exhaust and already installed my new intake manifold. I am debating if I will get the larger tb or not.

I haven't delved into the how deep members have went with their intakes, as I am relatively new to the G scene, but I'd assume typical VQ gains can be had from latger diameters.

Found one thread on it. Looks like you sacrifice max tq and hp for gains in 5500+ downward slope range on that specific vehicle. Not sure if its worth it for me. i will have to research it more, It may perform better with a cam and valve work. https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...dy-review.html
