Need help on retro fit projector project

Hey I have a 06 g35 coupe and I want to do the dual projectors like this picture but I was wondering if and how do I change the top projector shroud? Do I have to cut it out and replace it with a new projector and shroud. Just trying to put together this project but wanna get all my ducks in a row...

If you want it exactly like the ones pictured on the sedan you will need to do a lot of cutting and sanding to make space for those exact shrouds as the coupes bezel is too small for that "Iron Man/Machine Gun" type shroud. Too much work if you ask me but here's a couple pictures and info on the shrouds he used and also a link to his build.

Yes you can use smaller shrouds for an easier fit. Can you remove the top projector assembly? Yes. The top projector shroud? No. Here's some pictures of my 06 projectors so you can see what I'm talking about.

unless you are going with mini gatling gun shrouds, retrofitting is not an easy task with these cars. sedan or coupe. cutting and fiberglassing is required

I for real wouldn't retro 06s. They're already very nice. Just stick an LED in the city light and blinker position and call it a day. The dual projectors does look cool, but that's really the only improvement and that's such a small amount of gratification for all that work.

I think if you're gonna do a retro you should do some first gen lights. There's so much to be improved on with the 03/4/5 lights that it makes the work a little more satisfying (at least it should when I'm done haha). Plus you get the light strip to boot! Check out this inspiration for a first gen retro: looks better than the 06s if you ask me.

That looks pretty good. Good base to start with is the $300 eBay headlights as they are all brand new and the plastic covering the lights are really nice and new.

My plan (actually, as you state) is to start with some 04 lights (that I already have), buy some eBay crap lights, steals all the lenses (blinker, side strip and main housing lens) then put the wide angle LED in the side strip, an Amber LED under the clear blinker lens and projectors in the fog and hi/low beam positions. My main problem now is choosing a projector lense: the mini moto is the best for the price, but is the tsx or s2k really THAT much better to justify the large price difference/increase???! Also, what about the fog? I wanna go projector for looks, but I'm in SoCal, so it's literally ONLY for looks. I'm still kind of confused by all this, but I think I'm starting to get it.

Talk to a buddy last night he has a set of 05 coupe lights so it's just getting home to get them from him (he lives in GA and I'm in AL )

Hey urban,
I have been thinking of doing something similar to the Op. do you mean to retrofit the eBay lights or scavenge the components? I was wondering if it was worth it to buy a set of aftermarket to ruin or buy eBay ones and ruin those as I'm sure it won't go well the first time around.
