Yeah man, I know what you're talking about.

I'm just having fun doing stuff to my car, whether it be painting headlights, installing test pipes, or just lowering her.
I hope you're using quality parts on your lowering. If any part on this car is "where it counts" it's the suspension. The fact that it's absolute trash from the factory, and the chassis being pretty soft, it somehow handles great in stock form, so with suspension parts you really ought to step up the game; you get huge improvements. Not to mention safety issues with Chinese parts.

Yeah, definitely not cheaping out on crucial parts like suspension or engine mods. Car came with HKS coils and full SPC kit, so it's all covered.

yea don't ever by chinese suspension crap, it can break or fails very quickly.
Cars are put through tons of stress every day even with basic driving, most of these cheap chinese parts vendors don't have the QA to handle that.
Even things like sensors or coils that are chinese made often fail with in a year. If you cannot afford new OEM, get used OEM. The good thing is that there are an abundance of our cars and our engines specifically came in many cars, meaning the used OEM market is very large and for this I am grateful.

I don't care if y'all want to hate on me buying eBay ****, I worked for it, and it's all I can afford. At the end of the day we all love cars, so just respeck it.
Save for the real thing
I did just that for two years in college before buying my first SSRs
To me, having wheels I wanted was more desirable than blowing money with friends or going out and spending money that way on stupid chit. It took a little while to save up working a part time college job and paying the car loan itself at the same time, but it was worth it.

To me, spending money on reps or anything other than what I truly wanted to simply "hold me over" or look "good enough", would have been a waste

Personally I think that wheels are the largest waste of money on Gods green earth.
I am only considering buying some now because I cannot fit larger tires on my stock G rims.
There should be ZERO REASON to EVER buy wheels unless they are for PERFORMANCE reasons.
But I guess that is why I gap basically all the infiniti's I race, because they are all on wheels and stay slow lol

Generally agree - especially in the case of the stock Rays on these cars. If they were wider, I wouldn't be wheel shopping for this car - ever.

go with enkeis or gramlights. 4-5k on 19" wheels is absurd especially for a daily driver that has to deal with horrible roads everyday. If your a garage queen building a show car then I see the reason to go big. For occasional spirited runs and track abuse I think enkeis will suffice.

To me what's cheap is people trying to get that expensive showcar/track look with knockoff rep parts regardless of type of vehicle

The stock wheels do look really nice, I am the same way I would never buy new ones if I could fit bigger tires on them.

Most won't like what you said but it makes perfect sense.
