Dip stick!! And paint marks in bay.

I have an 03 coupe 5at. I know the dipstick is a known pain in the ***. But I like to check my oil constantly to keep my car in good shape. How do u guys know what's the oil level on your g35s?? Is there a trick or certain time to check it on these? Or is there an aftermarket dipstick that gives better reading? Help would be much appreciated because this can very much give my car more life. My other question is why is there paint marks/dots all over parts and bolts in the engine bay? Does anybody else have this? It's even on connectors. Does this mean my car has been in an accident? Thanks for whoever read all of it lol

Our VQ dipsticks are a PIA, but easy to read! Check your oil level after your G has been sitting for a while, that the only way to get a true reading. While checking your oil level turn the dipstick over, there's a full line which is easy to read. You don't need any other dipstick other than the one your car came with as long and the rubber seal hasn't deteriorated, I've replaced mine once because of that!

On my dipstick it just had oil all over the place even up to the very top. Just scattered everywhere on the dipstick. I've even tried 2 hours after letting it sit, and no luck. The only way I can check the oil level without having the oil everywhere is letting it sit overnight or a couple days (not my daily). But from what I know is that when u check oil when car is cold, it's not a true reading because oil changes when warm (when u suppose to check). So I've been just kind it guessing while it's cold that as long as I can see some on it Its good. I just thought if anybody has figured this damn thing out

I know what's wrong try this...pull out the dip stick, wipe it clean with a paper towel, no reinsert and check it. You should get a true reading! You can't just pull the dip stick and think you'll get a accurate reading without following the above suggestion! How's that working for you...Gary
