TRANSMISSION STUCK In 5th GEAR

Sorry to hear about your situation, keep us updated on the lemon law. Can't you somehow use the fact they won't service it against them? I'd definitely contact infiniti customer service.

Update: Nissan agreed to have another Infiniti Service Dept look at my transmission after I alerted them that the report that they received from Matt at MIDWAY Infiniti Phoenix, AZ was complete BS. Matt told Nissan that my "trany and clutch were both shot due to abusive driving." I argued that there couldn't be anything wrong with my clutch because how could I have driven my car while it was stuck in 5th gear if the clutch had been bad too. Before my car was taken to the other dealer I called the moron and pleaded with him to tell Nissan that he made a mistake, and that the clutch was fine. He said "I'm not doing you and favors" and dismissed the idea so his incompetance could remain hidden for a few more days. Anyway Nissan agreed that something wasn't right and my car was taken over to another Infiniti. What they discovered was that the gear linkage (?) was twisted or something and was fixed 100% under warranty!!! The clutch checked out too (big surprise). To sum it all up I've been w/o my car for 12 more days and in a rental (not a loaner) for 7 days all because this idiot, Matt, at Midway Infiniti falsified his report to Nissan as to the condition of my car. He claimed there were numerous aftermarket parts that could have caused any number of the problems I had with my car. Nissan read back the list of aftermarket parts noted by MAtt. They were 1) K&N Filter and 2) sway bars. Lucky my Jack in the Box antenna ball is on backorder or fit would have really hit the shan. Anyway, enough bashing Matt....tomorrow I will get my car back....but in all fairness I think Nissan owes me a check. I'll let you know what happens.

yes, I know it's mispelled....to me mispelling genius is some good self-depricating humor which is better than cocky any day.

3 Tranny Changes found in this thread.
G3NUI5, RugRatCoupe and RacerX35 had their trannys replaced for less than 35K miles. What year are your cars? This kinda worries me because the synchros shouldn't wear out that fast even with hard/abusive driving style. It's either Nissan made a weak tranny or there's something wrong with your driving style (no offense intented) but I'm sure you know how to drive your Gs. But a G35 being a luxury sports car should stand with this kind of abuse atleast pass 50K or something but this is like when the car is used in drifting or something.
And as a tip to everyone, before driving hard on those curvy mountain roads, practice heel-toe or rev-matching, this will greatly save your synchros from premature wear, your tranny and rear-end. And ofcourse, able to maintain your RPM range on a turn and smooth driving over all.
