Any ex-350Z owners who traded it in on their G35c?
Re: Any ex-350Z owners who traded it in on their G35c?
I'm waiting to buy the G35 coupe. I didn't even really consider the 350z because I'd want the touring version, which is the same price as the coupe, and since I can only afford one car, I really do need the back seats for occasional shmoozing at work. I also love the idea of getting a luxury car finally.
I really sympathize with you! If the love affair with your car is already over, I'd say change. BUT will the new car bliss make up for the money blues? MAYbe if you wait long enough to get a 2004 instead of a 2003, OR buy a 2003 used - which would be tough to do, but I don't like to say anything is impossible.
Cars - for true car people - are way too important to put up with constant annoyances. So you gotta either change your attitude towards your car or switch it.
Best of luck,
Shelley

I say go for it if you can easily afford it and you're very annoyed with the 350Z problems. The only problem I have found so far is the seat belt rattle after 7k miles. Tire wear should be better because the 18" pilot sports are great tires, unlike the crappy 18" 350Z tires. But I would only expect 15-20k miles out of them. The ride should be significantly smoother. The bose system sounds pretty good IMO; much better than say an Accord sound sytem. As far as I know only a very few people have complained about greasy windows for the Gcoupe. Rattles are just as common as with the Z as far as I know.

I dwelled on this for some time... I loved the brickyard Z and the daytona blue ..especially with burnt orange interior.
BUT as I am sure you know you cant get the brembos with the leather....that is dumb ...brembos on black with burnt orange is wicked
I took a z out for a couple of hours before I got the G.... I like the G better, seems abit more solid and forgiving but not weak in anyway .....
and yesterday it proved its worth in another department, the back seats came in handy in a emergency situation.
Luxury as opposed to boy racer (girls call the z that) wins hands down in the ladies department everytime... I'd just go out and say ... eh..whaddya like better and why.
I got G'd and dont regret a thing

Thank you to all the recent and past folks who have offered valuable comments, advise, and insights. You have helped me realize that while the Z is an impressive automobile, I may have jumped the gun on purchasing one. I should have done more research, more test driving, and given it more thought. The practicality of the two cars really isn't an issue...it's the problems I'm having with the Z. And I think, to be perfectly honest, my buyer's remorse might be due to missing some of the luxury features the G offers. My car previous to the Z was a Toyota Solara. I loved the Solara ride-wise, luxury-wise, and practicality-wise, but the styling left something to be desired. It simply looked like too many other vehicles on the road, i.e. Accord, Camry, Buick, Mom & Dad cars, etc. The G and certainly the Z look like nothing else on the road, hence my interest. Damn, I wish I'd driven the G more. The G that I took for a test drive was having problems plus it had a ton of rattles. I should have asked to drive a different one! Big mistake because much of my decision was based on that test drive. Live and learn, I guess.
But a huge "thank you" to those who have offered constructive thoughts and suggestions. KEEP 'EM COMIN'!

like most ppl on here, i chose the G for practicality reasons. aside from that I wanted the Brembos but i also wanted leather seats. couldnt get that with the Z. also, most of the reasons that ppl listed here were consideration for getting the G over the Z. But, I noticed one reason that wasnt listed. The warranty on the G is better than the Z. Also, you get a loaner vehicle for sure where the Z you dont. (well tahts how it is here in Canada, not sure about the States)
well these are pretty much the reasons why i chose the G over the Z. plus i got a great deal and the car in 2 weeks =)

ffejk,
You said a word I'm not hearing much, at least I didn't hear it when I went shopping for a G. That word is "deal." Every Infiniti dealer I've gone to is selling the car at MSRP, without exception. How did you swing getting a deal? What dind of price did you get?
