Last year right after July 4th, my 08 G37s was totaled from a rear end collision with an 18 wheeler. Back got ****ed up, and bought this turd 06 G35 that has a built short block and greddy TT kit with fresh new rebuilt turbos for the low low. I hopped on the chance, thinking I knew enough to fix the $hit, but fuq I was wrong. Fast forward almost a year, and I'm STILL messing with this thing. It's one thing after another, literally.

Should be banned from this forum.
Curious as to who and why should be banned..........

Thing is, he didn't say anything derogatory about anyone/anything in his post, and in fact was self deprecating in noting that he might have bitten off more than he expected. The technical information that he shared in this single thread is more than most people will share in their entire tenure on this site and in the work that he has done he has demonstrated more technical aptitude than the vast majority of members.

I'm not a snowflake by any means when it comes to tough love speech, but your comments make YOU sound like subhuman fool and likely anything else that comes out of your mouth will only further support that assumption.

No need to. He's the type of snowflake to freak out when his car starts acting up from a p0152. Bet he can't even swap out the fuel grommet.

I'm not assuming you'really scared, I'm assuming you're too ***** to actually do anything since all you want to do is troll a thread as an idiot. Stick around, maybe you'll learn something. Like what oil you should use, or that maybe you should replace your valve covers when you figure out they're fuc ked.

I'm glad the 2nd allows my gun to speak freely!

Not sure what's crawled up your azz lately but it's time to grow up and quit acting like the tool you're accusing hooey of being. Or you can take some time off, choice is yours.

Nah, that was from the leaking valve covers. Previous owner rode around and was putting in up to a quarter a week in...which should be a no no for built shortblock. And it was spilling over the side and dripping down to the bottom.

Its just a millennial **** talking because of his insecurity with his own knowledge. Not sweating it, I'm a Navy vet so it takes a bit more than that to get to me. Thanks though, Blue Dream.

And now, update-

I'm getting a slight misfire in cylinder 3...so as a rule of thumb, I ordered new coil packs. Changed the spark plugs about 1.5k miles ago, so if this doesn't work, then well...fuq.

Relocated my coolant reservoir temporarily till I can really dig in there, but it suffices for now. I was worried about it being right over my intake, but it seems to be holding up...ac heat comes right away, instead of me burping the coolant basically every start up (the can was located in the bumper at a shallow horizontal like angle lower than the radiator, when the coolant would expand, it would come out of the can, but because of the shallow angle, would suck in air when cooling off.) Temps have stayed around 190-210 steady for oil temp, so I'm fairly pleased with that.

Radiator fans stopped working all together. Pretty sure it's the relays in the fuse box. I'm going to short them temporarily and piggyback fan2 off of fan1 signal, so they cut on and stay on no matter what the operation of the car. Plan is to get a mishimoto fan controller when possible, install, and set it to kick in at 140.

I have everything I need to fabricate an oil cooler kit (sourced from Internet and amazon prime for about 250 total for a 25 row). I was iffy on installing it seeing as the car will be gone in probably another year or so, but in light of all the overheating...I'm gonna slap it on just to be safe.

Last but not least, the issue of the black top pistons- talked with a good friend and professional mechanic (he worked for Porsche. McClaren, and some other high name stealershipso, but point is, he knows his ****. He thinks that it's actually just carbon buildup on my pistons; I thought it was detonation damage, but we'll see. Going to see him in the next week to see about steam treating the piston tops to see how that improves things.

Haphazard af, but it was the only place i could put it without making a mess at work in the parking lot.

There a gap i can mount it to, outside of the engine bay, next to the intercooler passenger side. This way, if coolant were to push out, it'll be more controlled and NOT ALL OVER MY ENGINE.

The resolution is crappy, but i paid 15 bucks for a boroscope on amazon. The black is the thick af carbon buildup, and the shiny speckles are where the deposits are either smoothed and flattened, or theres a break thru the carbon where you can see the actual piston. I think its from the oil from the leaking valve covers, not tightened sparkplugs, and the exhaust camshaft sensor. And time.

Spun bearing as of 5/08. It's at my boy's shop, Oden's Customs & Restoration waiting for the teardown and inspection.

Heard it on the interstate...luckily, i was at my exit. Shifted to neutral, and she cut out when I let off the clutch. Put her up on stands and took a peek underneath. Thankfully, I think I had just caught it in time enough to prevent irreparable damage. Video is on my ig, @hooey_b.

Loaded her off to my friend's shop. Used K-2 towing, and surprisingly enough, all i had to do was remove my front bumper to get her on. Highly recommended if youre in the south/east part of atlanta.

Thanks mayne.

I'd say go for it. I made the mistake of picking up someone else's hot mess because it was a steal for what was invested into it...literally was on it's last leg and barely in running condition when I first purchased it...

As long as you do it proper and have all supporting modifications from the beginning, you'll have little/no issues. All of my problems are due to neglect and lack of knowledge of the previous owner. Their knowledge of the platform was/is paltry, but they could pay to play.
