Seatbelt Replacement Question

Hey guys how's it going? First thread here. I searched and all I came up with was thread about sending the seatbelt back to a company who rebuilds them. So my seatbelt is locked because my car was in a collision, so can I just get another seatbelt out of a parted out car?

You can buy a new one. I did just to replace my old worn one. $196 plus shipping from InfinitiPartsOnline plus shipping (it is hazardous material because it has an explosive charge in it).

Can't I get one from the junk yard as long as it hasn't gone off?

yes you can just buy a used one. shake it to make sure it is still good. might be a good idea to still get it rebuilt but yeah you can use an old one

What year is your car? I think seatbelts on most Nissan/Infiniti products have a really long warranty.... something like 10 years/unlimited mileage on their semi-modern vehicles.

I had an old 11990 Nissan 240SX that was like 15 years old at the time and I remember the owners manual said it had a lifetime warranty on seatbelts. I brought it to a Nissan dealer knowing this and they replaced one of my belts for free because one was broken and the inspection guy at my local station wouldn't pass me with it that way.

Infiniti replaced my two front seat belts at 11 years old totally free, they just had to test the belts. Someone had some fun doing some hard braking tests lol.

Seatbelt "lock" didn't activate on hard braking so you had to hold yourself back.

I messaged a few other G owners at the time to have them test their seat belts and theirs were defective also.
