How to fix power window that roll down when i close the door?

The power windows and door locks are inoperable 90% of the time. When i close the door with the window up it will do the little extra 1/8" and then immediately roll down half-way. The other door rolled all the way down during a rain storm and refused to do back up.

Either you have an electrical gremlin or your door lock actuators and window motors are all freaking out at the same time which would be weird. I'm leaning towards an electrical issue. Did this issue just pop up randomly? Did it happen after you did any work on the car? Has it been this way since you bought the vehicle?

same thing here, pass door lock works 10% of time, whether with key fob or unlock button. window rolls down a quarter of the way when pressing auto-up... seems like it just needs to be adjusted

Not totally sure about the locks. I have the same issue intermittently, but I think it probably has to do with the lock needing to be greased.

The window issue has to do with the motor needing to be reset/replaced. If it isn't working at all, it's time to replace it. These cars have notoriously bad window motors.

The issue with it rolling down a quarter of the way can be solved by resetting the window motor. The instructions are here:

Window reset is in order. If this happens again where the windows goes up but then drops, HOLD the window up switch to fully close the window. It will only drop back down when using the Auto Up feature. The drop is an anti-pinch safety mechanism, and the reset procedure lets the system know where the "fully closed" position is.

I've had an electrical gremlin in a Maxima once, but the G has the same feature, this is the windows up/down with a key. If you insert your key, and turn to lock and hold it there, the windows will go up, if you turn the key to unlock and hold, the front windows will go down. Somehow water or something got in the key cylinder and would cause the windows to roll down randomly, overnight or while driving, didn't matter. Had to unplug it, and never use a high pressure car wash.

Download the service manual and diagnose the problem. I'm having a similar issue. I just disconnected the wiring harness to the switch lol
