Cloudy headlamps!?!

Whats up, new guy here. Great site.

Has anyone else had a concern with the headlamps showing signs of discoloration or cloudiness? Car is totally stock, no aftermarket mods to lamps. I have not tried any chemicals to clean, dont want to make it worse or damage lens.

'03 6MT, Brembos, Navi, etc...

You need to purchase some lens or plastic polish at your local auto parts store and buff away. It's very common for our headlights to do that......plastic reacting to the elements. One solution is to apply headlamp protection w/ the clear bra material and it will protect the lens from getting hazy.

I just read that there was a TSB for it. Check it out.

Go to the dealer and ask for them to be cleaned as per the TSB

I use Blue Magic plastic polish/cleaner evertime I wash the car. Works fine. A good coat of wax helps.

This is really the only way to keep them clean aside from getting the clear protective film. As long as you are diligent about keeping them clean and waxed, they should keep their transparent appearance.

Step 1: 3M Plastic Cleaner
http://www.superiorcarcare.net/3mplasclean.html

Step 2: 3M Plastic Polish (or a good coat of wax):
http://www.superiorcarcare.net/3mplaspol.html

Worked like a charm for the haziness/cloudiness on my headlights. All gone!

Take yourself to the closest AutoZone and get yourself a bottle of PlastX by Mguiers (spelling?). This thing is like magic!

Here is a thread I posted over at FA last June about my HVAC display which I ruined. The pictures are gone, but it'll give you an idea...

Mother's metal polish. Work it in a little, just like metal, wipes right off.

When dealer fixed for me, they said that all they did was wax the area.
