Couldn't wait any longer, bought a Lexus!
Re: Couldn't wait any longer, bought a Lexus!
lets see.....Where to begin?
Lexus ES300... a fine automobile.
I feel your pain though, but i waited 6 months, 6 WHOLE MONTHS for my coupe and it was well worth the wait. But, I have another car that kept me busy in the meantime
It seems like you really needed a car so thats why you had to jump the boat.
35K fully loaded, thats a steal right there. Even a G35 sedan fully loaded can go up to 38K easily, knock off a grand off msrp and your looking at 37K for a g35 sedan fully loaded w/ nav.
So I think you got a good deal, but now its time to sell it, and make money from it and go get yourself a g35 in any of the forms that it comes in! (coupe, sedan)

Re: Couldn't wait any longer, bought a Lexus!
I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but this is just stupid. How could anyone who wanted a G35 coupe decide to get an ES300? The ES is a nice car, but it is the total opposite of the G in terms of looks, performance and just general appeal. The ES has a floaty ride and low power, relatively speaking. I guess I can understand the lack of patience, although to me that shows that you weren't truly interested in the car. But if that's the style of car you wanted, why wouldn't you switch to another car of similar type? As others have said, the IS300 would have been a better Lexus option. If you were considering the G, why not go for the sedan version? This just doesn't make any sense.

Now hold on there, ya young whippersnapper...
What gives you the ridiculous idea that G35 Coupes are for kids? They ain't Trix, junior. I'm a ripe old 40 years of age, and I say the Coupe is just fine for me - and even (gasp!) people older than I am.
NO respect... typical of today's youth. You think everything is for you, you, you...

By all means, please let me know where you intend to find a G35C with 30,000 miles on it... seeing as the car's only been on sale for like 9 months...
Good luck finding a used one for sale period, let alone one with significant mileage on it.
I dunno if Confucious said that patience is a virtue or not, nor do I know who originally said "All good things come to those who wait" - but in both cases, I think they applied very well to the wait for my G35 Coupe. Short of a Viper, Prowler or (shudder) a Vette, I can't think of a single car I'd rather be driving... and my Coupe will run circles around a Prowler. :-D

It would be easy to misunderstand Skiline 810, but I'm sure he approves of and respects all G drivers, even an older fart like me. (56 this year). He did say "young and young at heart". Well some of us fall into the 'young' category, and the rest of us in the other.
When I was 20 odd years old, I used to think that 50's and 60's was older, but now I'm there I can see and feel that you're as old as you feel and want to be.
One thing's for sure, driving a G sure helps you think young if not act young too. Peace bros (and sis's), and enjoy your G's.

haha GSM!
i agree with Conquie, This young generation doesnt know its @$$ from its head! The G was intended for the 40-60 year old age group, hence the golf bag trunk sticker instructions
Today's youth are just plain idiots!

It's a figure of speech, if a G35C was sitting on the dealers lot with let’s say 30,000 miles I would still take it over a “brand new” ES300, not that there’s anything wrong with an ES300 it’s just not my kind of style period.

Re: Couldn't wait any longer, bought a Lexus!
Ok everyone, here's my thought process on how I dropped the G and went for the Lexus ES300, and not some other car.
1. Why didn't I get the IS300 which is more comparable?
The IS300 would only remind me of the fact I didn't get the G. Compared to the G, it's crappy in my mind. Interior is less to be desired.
2. Why not buy a used G?
I'm ****. I need to have it new and know I was the only driver.
3. Why not buy the G sedan?
This car is quite ugly if u ask me. There's something about the back of the car that just doesn't look right.
4. Why did I purchase the Lexus ES300?
-The car is beautiful inside (with NAV and the wood trim)
-The exterior could've been better but it's ok.
-It's a classy car. Class is very important to me. The G35 is a classy looking car (w/o spoiler)
-For those who wondered how I can go so astray in my choice, I wanted to pick a car that's the best in it's class. The G35 is the best sports coupe in it's class, and the ES300 is the best entry level luxury car in it's class.
Hope this clears up any questions about my choice. Remember guys, I can drive this for a year and wait to get the G when it's more powerful and full featured.

Wait you think the G sedan is ugly? Not to rag on you or anything but the ES300 styling doesn't even come close to good looking.

You think the sedan is ugly?!?! That ES looks like a Mudskipper!!! Oh, that's right, you like the interior of the ES. Good thing! Keep your eyes closed when you're approaching and walking away from that thing. Just keep your eyes on the road! I'm not saying it just to be mean, but the last model of the ES was WAY better looking. The new one is Aztek ugly...

WOW! I thought I was the extreme Geezer in the room! Gsedanman, you've got me beat by a year! You sure got it right, too! But we also shouldn't be too hard on Mr. Skyline810. He likes what he likes. Hey, I've got a Honda motorcycle in my garage next to the G35c and when I walk by IT, it brings a smile; my friends who covet Harleys don't understand that. Something about beauty, eyes, and beholders!
