Id be happy with that. I'm hoping for noticeable gains with all thats being done and the amount of money I spent. Regardless i will have a fresh engine and thats worth what I spent regardless. i looked into purchasing a long block to have put in and that would have actually cost more with the install price.
The question that I have is after all that work what will your insurance company value a fourteen year old vehicle if some A-hole hits and totals your vehicle?
Are you going to obtain some sort of special insurance coverage?

Couple reasons I want to go supercharger. No turbo lag, and after looking into it its a couple thousand cheaper to do. I get my car back sat. Loking forward to it.

My insurance has an option to pay a little more to cover it to a certain amount if I carry full coverage. In the next couple months I’m having it painted also so ill have something like 15k in it and no way they would give me that if it was totaled without the extra coverage.

True, but superchargers also lack torque compared to a turbo. There are a few of builds were people have modded the Vortech systems to yield some high gains.

How much power can the engine handle after all that stuff you put in it?

The rods are rated to 1500hp but it will never see anything close to that, and I’m not sure about the rest of it. I want to have 400-450 or so when I’m done and the engine will be more than capable to handle that. I think any more than that and I have to start worrying about the clutch and other driveline related issues. If down the road I get used to the power and want more I would be able to do that without having to worry about whether or not the engine could take it. I think though, with all I’ve done I can safely get what I want out of it and not have to worry about breaking anything for a long time. I get it back tomorrow afternoon and will post pics sometime this weekend.

Mad respect for VQ FI builds, but for 7500 plus FI kit plus tuning etc etc... I'd do a well documented ls swap with junkyard truck motor, build that in my garage, and 450 bulletproof NA horsepower with 450 torque at 2000 rpm.... And then turbo THAT as a later project.

Good thing it's not my money That's going to be one hell of an engine!

Its been awhile since I posted anything but I just dropped it off at crucial performance for the procharger upgrade. they expect to add 200hp with 12lbs of boost safely with what I have in the engine after talking to procharger.

298hp at the wheels I think. its been a year or so but I have the dyno numbers if I take the time to find them.

Edit: was 242at the wheels I just found the dyno sheet. 298 is stock I think before I did anything to the car.

I dropped it off to have the pro charger installed yesterday so don't have those yet but should be 498 if they get the full 200hp they expect. I'm guessing will be around that plus or minus 5 to 10hp

Thanks. Now Ive got to figure out the best way to get better traction. Granted it was extremely cold outside when I drove it home and Ive got summer performance tires on it but it was really easy to break traction at higher rpms even at 50mph.
