Hey guys, my car has been getting a scratching sound every time after start up, then stepping on the throttle for the first time... Not sure what is going out, it sounds exactly like when bottom of the car get scratched. However I would never hear it again until the next start up. So every morning when i leave the driveway and step on it even very gently, i would hear this noise... hurts a lil every morning . What can this possibly be?

 

It's your ABS motor going through the self-check prime, it happens after startup as soon as the vehicle reaches 10mph and only lasts about 1 second. Failure of the system typically results in the relay sticking and the motor NOT turning off, if this happens pull over and unplug the battery so the motor doesn't keep running and eventually fry.

 

Oh for real? I've been thinking there was something wrong my car. Yea its exactly as you described it, reachin about 10mph and lasts about 1s, this is the first car that i've had this. but good to know now tho !

 

Yeah it freaks a lot of new owners. If you can remember put your foot lightly on the brake pedal when it starts and you'll really trip out, it vibrates like crazy but just for a moment.
