where's the fusible link and how would i know it's bad? i just replaced my battery and double checked my alternator and apparently that isn't getting any power, so my car is solely running on my battery as of now...

The fusible link is at the positive battery cable.
You would know it is bad by using your multimeter to measure the voltage on each side of it.
Measure the battery voltage across the battery with the engine not running.

Then move the red (positive) meter probe to the other side of the fusible link. If good you'll read the same voltage. If bad the meter will read zero.

With the engine running if your alternator and fusible link are good your meter should read

The fusible link is under the red plastic on the red positive battery cable
