RPM goes above 3000 on the first gear!
My fellow G-bros, I’ve encountered a very serious issue with my 05 G35 Coupe A/T. Apparently when I shift to Drive, theres a big jerk in the gear and I have to accelerate to up till 3000 RPM to make the car move. The first gear takes a lot of time to shift as well but as soon as it shifts to the 2nd, the rpm comes back to 2000 (which is normal) with all the other 5 gears shifting perfectly. I’ve checked all the fluids, changed the MAF sensor 5 times, re-idled the computer, cleaned out the exhaust filters but no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What made you suspect the MAF was bad and needed replacing 5 times, was it shooting an error code for the MAF or IAT sensors? What check engine light necessitated all these engine repairs when your troubles appear to be originating from the transmission?
What is this "exhaust filter" you're referring to?
What was your procedure for checking the transmission fluid? The symptoms you described are simply low fluid symptoms, did you get the transmission to the MINIMUM REQUIRED 104 degrees F and cycle gears properly before parking the vehicle and checking the fluid level with the engine still running?
Have you been doing a fluid replacement drain/fill for the AT on schedule every 30k miles as required by the manufacturer to prevent early transmission failure?
Sorry if this comes off harsh but nearly all automatic transmission problems are simply due to neglect by the owner.

I’ve YouTubed the problem and in the videos there, they said that it could be either because of the MAF sensor or the intake has a tearing in it. Luckily no tear was found, I’ve had 4 extra sensors so replaced and checked with all of them but no help. Also, Ob2’d this, the only errors I got were my check engine light and the O2 sensor had to be replaced.

Ok, exhaust filter is a new one for me then. I would recommend taking it in to Nissan for a diagnostic at this point. With Consult-II or III they can see exactly what's going on inside the transmission and will be able to give you an exact cause so you don't have to keep throwing parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem. After they tell you what's wrong you can decide how you want to proceed with repairs.

Like I’ve said, I’ve checked and changed my G’s transmission fluid neatly by taking it over to the professionals at Nissan’s service center, about 10 days ago. The exhaust filter is the white sand-type filter that comes within the manifold pipes, for noise cancellation. (where I live, the road laws are strict and the gas is expensive) and the reason why I got it cleaned was because one had broken up and it’s pieces were stuck in the exhaust body.

I'd still take your car back to talk about it but good luck with them taking the blame.
Idk I put my old radiator shroud back in after they charged me over $900 for a new one and it worked perfect. Went back to talk to the service manager and he asked "was your car overheating when you drove off our lot?" I said no. He says "then it sounds like we fixed your problem." I drove with the old fans for years with 0 problems

so with this new info in hand, if you went to the nissan dealer for trans service and 10 days later the trans is acting up, why didn't you go back to the dealer?. Go back to nissan and tell them about the issue asap, they shouldn't charge you, especially if the issue started after they serviced the trans.
I still haven't gotten a direct answer from you though, have you checked the fluid level. Transmission needs to be up to temperature, go for a highway cruise, come back, park, go through EACH gear and hold each gear for a few seconds, leave engine running and check the fluid level.
Telcoman
They were aware of the issue and I bet they knew what the problem is but they kept silent, also, the department I went to just serviced the vehicles (trans, engine, oil, steering). For a deeper-inspection and fixation, they’d send me to the major service department. The major service (excluding the labour and spare parts charge) costs around the car. I’m stuck with this now lol.
... so wait, you had this problem BEFORE or AFTER you went to nissan? there are different levels of service departments?
... lol im so confused
