What do you think this squeeking is?
So I recently put on Hotchkis sway bars, and Tein comfort sport coilovers. After the install I had an annoyong squeek, coming from what sounds like the rear left, that ended up being the rear sway bar link. Replaced all links, front and back, with new ones from autozone, that look alot better/stronger, and the squeeking went away. I now added Tein's EDFC active, and rear shocks had to actually come back off to put the motors on, but now the squeeking is back. The car drives fine, and I now purchased aftermarket sway bars links by Whiteline, but I double checked, and re-greased the autozone links and they look fine. What else could this be? Im hoping putting the new-er links on solves the problem. It only makes a really light squeek on bumps and rough areas of road
What's probably going on if you are torqueing all those suspension bolts with the vehicle suspended in the air and the suspension at max travel. Once you lower the vehicle down there is quite a bit of compression and strain on those bushings so they're making noise. You could try spraying everything with a silicone aerosol sorry but it will attratc dirt and make a little bit of a mess. Other option is to loosen everything, drop the vehicle down onto blocks or something to set the suspension at ride height but still allow you to get under it to torque everything with the suspension settled.
I usually lube the utter **** out of poly bushings for that same reason. Keep pumping in grease until it shoots out one side, just be careful that you aren't hydraulically pushing the bushing out of it's socket. Clean up the mess with a rag once the extra grease blows out.
