Strange Transmission Noise
not sure if its the throwout bearing...
the noise stops once you press or depress the clutch....
its only while youre engaging or disengaging the clutch..... when your foot is flat on on the ground with the clutch pressed its not noisy... or when youre off the clutch

Can't answer that but the throw out bearing is the first thing I would try. Perhaps from throw out bearing wear the arm is touching something during engagement. I'm assuming that this was not triggered by someone working on it.
