Test Pipe Sound?
Test Pipe Sound?
I recently installed my Megan Racing Test Pipes and before i did, i looked up videos of TP's. In the videos, they seemed to make the cars insanely loud. Once i put mine on, i got a tiny bit more of a growl and when i rev theres pops of course. But nothing all that noticeable or headturning. Anyone else having this problem? or are TP's just not what i expected?
There's still a fair amount of restriction on the rest of the system due to smaller pipe diameter and poorly flowing muffler. The cat is the singular most restrictive component but the rest of the components are restrictive as well.
then what do you recommend i do? I mean, i already have a catback.
That's pretty vague, it's like someone saying:
A well engineered system has parts that compliment one another, increasing flow, maximum scavenging, all while keeping proper velocity for PERFORMANCE gains and a specific combination of resonators and muffler so that it SOUNDS GOOD.
If you are just going to piecemeal a set together from random parts then don't expect good results, a good system costs a fair amount of money because it delivers on all fronts. Personally I like these guys.

I need more traction for corners, what do you recommend, I already have TIRES.

You can't add "Test Pipes" and expect good results, I'm surprised you can drive your car with all the rasp you must be experiencing! With the amount of restriction in those factory cats the rest of the exhaust system has to be over-whelmed!
