Snap sound driver side front

I am experiencing a weird noise lately in the front driver side wheel, when I brake hard, I hear a sound that snaps or pop as if something broke in the front driver side wheel. When braking moderately I don't hear it. No noise in the passenger front though. The recent work done in the front were compression rod bushings last December, it was not making any noise after 2-3 months of installing it, now it progressed as if it is getting worst and I am concerned.

I am going to jack it up today after work to see what is going on, any ideas what could it be? Thank you in advance.

Could be anything, loose brake pad, blown bushing, busted endlink, loose swaybar etc. First step is getting you head under there.

Ill bet my left nut its your sway bar end links. Those drove me nuts until I finally pin pointed what the sound was. My car would literally make popping noises driving in a straight line

Also, I was having an extremely loud popping sound when I turned my wheel to full lock, You could recreate that sound 100% of the time. The shop I went to started to poke around and just ended up torquing a mess of bolts under my car. All suspension bolts got tightened and that sound never came back. They also torqued the sub frame bolts and its been quite a while, no issues.

Yeah, based on my experience I would bet on it being your sway bar end links,

Yes, exactly what I am experiencing. I upgraded to hotchkis sways last year and I should've replaced the end links at the same time, now it is taking a toll on me. Was the noise gone after new endlinks? I am thinking getting the moog set for fronts and rears, is that forum approved? thanks BTW.

I did not get new end links. Here's what happened. I replaced my lower control arms and I thought I'd might as well replace my end links while I'm at it. So I ordered some random brand ones off of rock Auto. That sound started happening and I didn't think it was the new links because obviously, they're new.

I went crazy trying to diagnose the sound and one day I tried putting my old links back on and the sound disappeared. So my old links are still find but I would highly suggest spending the extra money and going factory oem

The moog ones from rock auto are super solid, greasable, and less money than the stocks.

I've always been happy with Moog components for daily driver use.

Another vote for Moog here. Picked up a set of front endlinks 50K miles ago and with being lowered 3", Hotchkis F/R sway bars and a fair share of hard driving they're still going strong. I think I bought them at VatoZone but can be had cheaper other places these days.

I think a lot of people think like you do. But in this case they're a great bargain in the car world for DIY'ers.

Moog is basically at the high end of normal daily driver consumer grade parts and at the low end of race quality parts. For a track car I wouldn't be using Moog because there are a lot of much better options but for a daily driver I place them on equal footing as OEM components. They've built a solid brand name over the past 50 or so years.

Yes, I like the greasable fittings that is why I am set with moog. The car is only driven on weekends for occasional canyon runs and once a year track event. I will be getting sets of moog for fronts and rears, at the same time I'll be upgrading to ES bushings for control arms and z1 subframe collars as preventative maintenance. Just gathering all the parts now and will knock it down all at once.

Just an update, the pop and snap sound is GONE after replacing the oem swaybar endlinks with greasable moog sets for both front and rear. I also replaced the lower control arm bushings with energy suspension poly bushings. My car feels solid and feels TIGHT again (that's what she said) LOL thanks for all your suggestions/opinions.
