07 Auto takes force to get into Park

Hey everyone.

The past week or so I've been working on a friends 07 Auto G35 Coupe (going from factory radio & nav, to new headunit and top storage container). The whole time we've been working on it we've had all the trim pieces out for multiple days (we would work on it maybe 2 times a week for 2 weeks). So the shifter assembly etc was exposed.

Well last night we finally finish everything and we throw the shifter panel pieces back on (we also made sure it went through the indicator gate) and we noticed that without an extra push the car will not go completely into Park. We took off the trim a few times to check if anything was stuck but couldn't really find anything. In fact if you're in park and you just hit the button, that force is enough to take it out of its slot and it will require a small push to put it back into park.

Anyone have any suggestions? We never noticed the problem before, but we were using the stock taller shift ****, but now even with the stock **** in its noticeable.

I have attached a picture of the install just in case anyone was interested! Also this is a used car he just picked up! 165k on the clock

Make sure the auto slider slides down into the moving slot. I made that mistake the first time.
