red 2005 g35 stock manual 6 speed
g35 oil dip stick
I recently got my 2005 g35 coupe 6 speed and I've been having trouble reading the oil dip stick I tried using grip tape and scuff up the dip stick a little as I saw on some YouTube videos where that worked but for me it just simply doesn't work any tips or things I should to ? thanks in advance

U gotta check when the engine is fully cold. I know its stupid...but thats how Infiniti designed it.
Let the car sit overnight. Check the dipstick in the morning. That should be your oil level.

Sanding the dipstick like that will only make it worse. What works is doing exactly what Scorpio said or if you ABSOLUTELY MUST do hot checks you can take a small triangular file and deepen the factory hashes.
Cold checks work perfect though, it's hard to screw that one up.
