Screech at cold start

2003 G35 coupe
i have the famous screech in engine bay every day at cold start for like 5-10 sec. I did some reading on this issue and i first want to tighten belt, but how can I do that ?

you have to loosen the tensioner pulleys slightly and then get underneath the car and tighten the adjustment bolts. There are a few videos on youtube on how it is done. When was the last time the car had a new set of belts, it could be time for some.

Odds are about 85% if your belt or belts are screeching they're dried out and need to be replaced! I only use Nissan belts due to their superior quality over what you find at your local auto parts store!

I agree with Gary. The gator belts may be the only a/m belt that will hold up, but you can’t go wrong with OEM when the cost is not that much different than quality a/m belts

Also, check your adjustment bolts, they may need replacement as well, they are relatively cheap and a good idea if you are doing belts, check the play on your tensioner pully’s as well

How long have you had those belts? I changed both of mine and the squealing went away for a bit then came back again, had to adjust them properly for it to go away
