I have an '03 G35 coupe and I recently scraped my underbody and it managed to disconnect my downstream right O2 sensor. I jacked it up and took a look today and the sensor appears to be fine, but the harness that the O2 sensor hooks into got scraped up pretty bad. To be clear, its not the harness at the end of the O2 sensor, but the female end coming from the engine. I attached a couple pictures to show what I mean. I want to know the part I need to replace that black connector. I found the thread below, but it is referring to an 07-08 sedan, so I wasn't sure if the parts match.
If anyone could provide me the proper part # for that black connector, or confirm that the part listed in the thread above is correct, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks The connector at the end of the O2 sensor The broken connector that the O2 sensor hooks into
It's easier to just cut the harness off a donor vehicle and solder/shrink tube it onto your vehicle instead of replacing the ENTIRE wiring harness for the vehicle. And it saves you about $1000 dollars in parts, not to mention the 20+ hours of labor.
I was looking at this part. I saw it recommended to someone with the next generation of G35's and I wasn't sure if the connector would match up. I wasn't planning on replacing the entire harness, just that connector.
I don't THINK that's the correct harness. iirc the one on the G35 used a pin configuration that was in a straight line, not a stacked pin configuration like that. Unplug the other side and take a good clean look at it and compare those.
Nevermind I can see in your original photos they are stacked. I still think the best action is to go to a pick-n-pull and find another G or a 350Z and cut the harness off a donor car.
subbed. i did the same thing. just been running with it kinda stuck together. would like to know if there's an easy solution where i don't have to go find a donor to pull from.
Unfortunately, it wasn't an exact match. The plastic fins on the sides of the o2 sensor connector didn't line up with the slots on the connector I purchased, so I used a screwdriver to carve out a slot in the right location. It wasn't too difficult but you'd probably be better off getting the part from a scrapyard.
