Big transmission leak. Causes?

So as I was about to head to work. I saw a big trail of transmission fluid leaking out from the bottom of my car. I then towed it to my shop and they replaced a hose which possibly got chewed through by a rodent/rat? Does that sound about right? This is the second time that has happened to me in a 2 month span. Same exact issue.

Transmission cooler lines? IIRC most hoses are made with a soy-based covering that rodents love. Might be some synthetic-rubber alternatives, or you could try spraying/coating OEM ones.

In 10 years on the forum I've never seen this issue pop up. What a pain in the ***, sorry you're dealing with this.
