engine making rattling noise when accelerating
hi guys i need help with a rattling noise my 2003 g35 is making when i drive it. it started off dim and now it’s gotten louder and i know something wrong but i can’t get to what the problem is. i put a video up on youtube if you could check it out around 10 seconds into the video is when you could hear the rattling.
Sounds like it must be something inside your car and not the engine. Check to make sure your passenger seatbelt isn't in a weird position. If you have sunglasses in the sunglass storage, it may also make some noise. Does it only make the noise while the care is moving? If you rev the engine in neutral does the noise still happen.
Dont sound like the motor to me. It's hard to tell though. I can tell you this, I owned a 04 sedan yrs ago and even my 08 sedan has heat shields over the y pipe and cat on the exhaust.they will rattle after awhile. Especially if you live in a area that gets drastic weather changes (rain snow etc..).
Check engine oil

Check your valve covers and make sure they are not leaking then. I just bought new ones, put them on ($395 for the covers with gaskets and pcv valve at z1motorsports) Car not only seems to be running much better (new PCV valve probably helped but also cleaned everything while I had the engine apart as well as new spark plugs). No oil burn so far. Did an oil change the day I finished the covers and all is good so far...
