220-225 rwhp. Not much worse than a manual version.

Actually we had a small dyno meet this past Saturday. SI_G35coupe has an 04' auto, and while it's not really stock (headers, cats, y-pipe, Z-tube, JWT PC), surprisingly his numbers weren't that high. His numbers were pretty much as mine and Deisel1's around ~227hp and ~225 torque IIANM, and we both have 6MTs.

Here are my results (04' 6MT, with only Z-tube/JWT PC/Grounding gear):

i see.. i was proving the fact to my friend that base hp means nothing..

since u had mods and it only gave 225~ rwhp.. i will assume around 220 RWHP with the base of 280...

while BMW E46 M3's have 333 base and 285~RWHP...

at first i thought the more base hp the wider the difference between BHP - WheelHP ... but since the difference of a G35 bhp to whp is 60~.. and m3's bhp to whp is only 50~ i dont see whats the point of the BHP system.. my theory was wrong.. and i no longer understand why -_-

Well BHP measures the actual output of the engine... rwhp simply measures the power that is being put to the ground. Changing different things like the driveshaft would, in theory, affect your rwhp (assuming you were changing the drivetrain's power loss), even though you arent actually getting more power from the engine

well the accord is front wheel drive so the power does not have to travel far, thus a minor loss of power compared to a rear wheel drive car.

You have 9% power loss to the wheels? I'd have to see proof before I believe that. Some G35s dyno around 240-250hp on a mustang dyno but on dynojets (which most find the most accurate) they range from 215-225 for the auto. BTW, most Altimas dyno less than the G (~10hp) and still run 14.2. Since you are lighter than a G but comparable to the Altima, you should be in the 13.xx range.

AHEM AHEM.......I was pushin close to 232 SPEED!!! COUGH COUGH!! That's with Z tube and K&N drop in! And a GSQUAD decal of course!!! LOL

SPeed I just noticed you had an 04 and Steve has an 04 as does Dave....I am wondering if the 04's changed slightly?? I dunno??

It's all close enough... a few ponies either way won't make a huge difference.

interesting.. back then i thought the difference b/w base and wheep hp was 15%... which was for a BMW M3... so i thought it would be the same for the g35.. which would make it 240rwhp.. but instead the g35 has a 25% loss @ crank

How are you getting 25% loss? 280 x 75% = 210hp. Nobody dynos that low. At most, 220/280hp = 21.4%. At best 225/280 = 19.6%. (for autos). Some manuals get 230-235hp which equals 17.9% to 16.1%.

Most accords dyno around 195-200, thats like saying the '05 6mt that was dynoed at 260 will be the same for all, most dyno around 230-235.

common wisdom says an AT w/RWD has ~20% loss (no matter the manufacurer) and a MT RWD has ~15% loss.

A Front wheel transverse setup (like the Honda) would be about 5% less (so ~10% on the manual, and 15% on the auto)

The numbers seen as posted from Dyno goers suppert this...
i.e. a G35 AT with 280HP has a loss of 20% or 56HP, or about 225 RWP which is what was seen on the dyno.
