engine swap?

would it be possible to do a 2JZ-GE engine swap on our coupes?
i can get a complete engine + tranny for a grand. then this engine can hold about 600rwhp w/out beefing it up.

p.s.-2JZ-GE = supra non-TT engine.

Anything is possible with money. But I would rather spend that money building the VQ which will end up costing a lot less. Custom engine swaps are pain in the ***, and since you have to ask that question, you don't have much knowledge about what is involved in engine swaps, especially one that isn't even produced by the same company as your car. The answer is yes, but I don't see any advantage of doing it as built VQ35 is much more stronger than 2JZ-GE and will cost less and will be able to be done in much shorter time. Even 2JZ-GTE is not worth swapping in unless your a tuner company owner and want to show off what your shop can do, which you are not.

im pretty sure any 2JZ engine will hold its own against a vq35(even beefed up)

and u would have to get a turbo kit(6000+), a stroker kit(7k), fly/clutch(not sure), then intall will be well over 1500.

14k+?

engine swaps are very expensive, especially when putting a toyota motor in a nissan body, the only swap i've seen like that is a supra motor in an RX-7, but if you have money and are willing to wait it out, because it would take a few months, then do it, my opinion buy a TT kit for the G35 and bore it out

Getting the 2JZ-GE motor up to 450hp would take just about as much money as getting the VQ up to 450hp.

The 2jz-ge has a higher compression ratio and a different cam on the intake side (and I think different rods) than the 2JZ-GTE. The 2jz engine is a great series of engines, but the GE and the GTE cannot be compared. You would end up spending more money getting the GE up to 450hp (from 225hp) than you would getting the VQ up to 450hp (from 280-298 depending on model year).

If you really want 450hp and you're going to spend the money to buy a motor/ecu/tranny, fab the mounts for the motor and tranny, and actually have the install completed don't waste your time with a pathetic 2jz-ge...get the 2jz-gte.

My advice would be to sell your G and buy a Supra if that's what you really want. It'd be cheaper.

you know the VQ35 engine has been on Top 10 Best Engines on Ward's Auto for 11 consecutive years. why would you want to change it. don't get me wrong, toyota is a good brand of cars. we have 2 at home and i just sold my camry to get this car. i'd say if you want more hp, get a TT like RacerB355 said

Top 10 Engines List

Nissan 3.5L DOHC V-6

Throw a VK45 motor in your coupe and turbocharge it.

Does anybody know if the V8 in the M45/Q45 would fit in a G Coupe? That would be awesome!

I think it'd be an interesting swap. I've got to believe that, among other mods and costs, it would require a suspension change...Isn't the 2JZ-GE significantly heavier than the VQ35DE?

Keep savin for that vortech....You may be saving money on the supra engine, but like everyone said, custom jobs will cost you much more than beefin up the VQ...you could, however, do swaps all day between civics and integras and preludes....but again, same manufacturer, same body style (in terms of motor housing/mounting) so its almost a mere drop in.
