Tuning with 180k Miles
Tuning with 180k Miles
I recently picked up a 2004 G35 Coupe (5AT). Installed Z1 HFC, Z1 Yipe, Z1 M Spec Catback exhaust (dual), Z1 Plenum Spacer, and a Z1 Highflow intake with the pop charger heat shield.
The car does have 179xxx on the odometer and I was wondering would it be safe to tune. I'm not expecting gigantic numbers nor am I going to be racing this 5AT. I want the most out of my mods
and also want to see if anyone else has tuned a car with high mileage. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Getting a tune will only add to the life of the motor, everything runs a little more efficiently. You'll probably see close to a 20whp gain with those mods after a tune.
Something you should also look into since you live in Atlanta and close to Z1. They were having a killer sale on aluminum driveshafts a couple weeks ago, it doesn't make more whp but it allows the power to be put to the ground in less time due to less rotational mass.
Not sure if they're still running the deal but it was under $500, since you're local you can pickup with no S&H.
