need to get g35 coupe back to OEM shocks
need to get g35 coupe back to OEM shocks
I purchased a g35 about 2 months ago. the coil over springs are JDM blue. the rear shock needs to be replaced. I can't find a replacement. Does anyone know of a company that I can buy a full set of shocks, struts and springs to get the car back to normal?
Buy a set of "strut assembly" for the front, that will include springs already installed on the strut.
If you have TRUE COILOVERS on the rear you will need the springs, the shocks (not struts in the rear), the lower spring bucket, probably the upper mounting rubber damper, and the bolts to attach the spring bucket to the rear hub/subframe.
If you do NOT have true coilovers then you already have the rear spring bucket and will only need OEM springs and a pair of rear shocks.
First thing to do is figure out exactly what you have equipped on your vehicle, take pictures and post here if you're unsure. You should be able to wipe down the struts and find a manufacturer mark/sticker on it somewhere. You might have equipment that can be rebuilt.

I see springs everywhere, just thought someone would know the dimension that would fit, that you personally have used, seen, or can use.
Cars aren’t flying and really driving themselves.
It’s possible, if it is $1200 for two coil springs on an 2004 G, and everybody else gets them for cheap. Unless I really don’t know what I am driving, it’s not Mercedes, but damn, for the last 16 years still $1200, that was my whole stimulus check, plus I had to give my mom $300, no way.
Looking for someone who knows a little more than what I do, hopefully.
That's just the way dealership parts typically price out for a vehicle that hasn't been manufactured in 15 years, things get REALLY expensive when you are buying brand new OEM components.
Check eBay, that's definitely going to be your best bet for getting a set of OEM springs, you just need to know what color dot code you want. Here is a link to a thread discussing the different dot colors for various chassis configurations. Look down at post 3 for the color dot code for the coupe with revised springs (you want the revised ones, stiffer in the rear).

Will it matter if they are used, no matter what? I mean like who would take off used springs at 10k?
So, you think - The two red and one purple?
How will they not be worn used? Like I can’t see the pictures with the third post you stated which is the 427 revised two red one purple. The pictures do not load.
The eBay listings I found, used that is available, says Mileage: 134,896.
I do not think it will work but they are 2004 with red dots and I can’t see the pictures for the 427 springs you recommended, only the “text” that says 427 two red dots and one purple.
It will be hard as hell to find two red one purple, 427 rated used springs on eBay without them saying or showing it.
The 427 springs say 2 red one purple but the pictures do not load, and I can’t find any with 2 red one purple, on ebay, if it will work, then, I will keep an eye out, unless, I just get the Infiniti OEM.
Thanks for the info.

I've never seen G35 springs sag with age, they're a very hefty spring so I would have no qualms about running used springs.
It's also quite common to find used springs because people regularly swap to coilovers. Not sure about total availability in today's era, try finding a local one at a pick-n-pull.

think I should just change the bushings for the rear springs for now until I figure it out? my car got less mileage than what i see, i just do not know if someone wrecked it when i bought it when i got hit by an illegal immigrant in my my is, and had to buy this car in the dark.
The spring bushing isn't going to make a bit of different, I've never seen them wear out but it was common to chop the rear bushing down to lower the rear of the car when switching to the 350Z revised springs (springs lower the front 1/2", then you take about 3/8" off the rear bushing to level it out, any more and you end up slightly rubbing on the rear with 25mm spacers).
EDIT: If your mileage suddenly went to crap you might be out of alignment.
