Yeah just the color. Seems like people are actually willing to pay more for the blue color. I personally have red in mine and it looks fine. Its not like that blue or red will be matching anything in the interior of our cars anyways.

Quick story on the x50: (I have the blue display - If you order the remote display smartcord, make sure to specify which color display you want also)
I was driving home last night, coming up on a row of intersections with stoplights. Normally, with all the stoplights and turn arrows, I will pick up up to 4 radars on the detector. Last night, with the passport in the mode that displays the little bars for up to 8 sources, I simultaneously had 3 X, 1 K, and 1 sneaky cop using a Ka in all that radar mess.
It might have been nice to have an arrow to see where the cop was, but it was more important to know that I was aware of an extra set of eyes on the road looking for anyone going a little faster than they should be.

Yes, there are 3 modes on the 8500 x50. The first one displays the strength of the strongest signal across the entire display, the second mode will display the frequency of the strongest signal, and the third mode, the one I described, will display the strength of 2 Ka, 2 K, and 4 X band radars simultaneously. The strentgh meters are vertical so they can fit all 8 at one time. I find this more helpful than just seeing a number display of radar count.

The Red/Blue displays were the same price at Ultimate Electronics in Phoenix, AZ. They were back ordered on the red ons though, so I got stuck with a blue one (and I have a Laser Red coupe). Still works fine though! Paid for itself in the first 2 months. Worth every penny!
