Power Braking/ Brake Boosting

Hey everyone,

I’m a relatively new G owner and I have a 2007 5AT G35 sport tuned suspension. Now I know it’s an automatic and I understand how the 6MT would of been better for scenarios like this but, I like to burnout too. I have pretty new tires so it’s not easy for me to burnout, the main question I have is how hard is it on my 5AT to brake boost/power brake? Essentially I’ll hold the brake and put the revs anywhere from 1200-2000, 1200 if I want a perfect launch and 2000 if I’m trying to burn some rubber and show off a bit. I’m having so much fun with this car I’m in love, so I want to take care of her. Is it okay to brake boost here and there? How hard is it on my car? Does anyone else with a 5AT do this to launch our automatics the best we can?

Personally I wouldn’t recommend doing it a whole lot but if ur at the track and wanna do some launches you’ll be ok. Try not to rev the engine too high when doing this tho (max 2.5k). I do it when I’m at the track or when I’m showing off to my friends at a red light.

Long story short - don’t do it all the time and you should be ok 👍🏻
