Hello everyone, just seeing if anyone on this forum has swapped an LS engine into a G35 coupe? Just curious on how you did your build. Is there any cheap posi set-up available for these cars?
My son has a 2005 G35 and a L33 (aluminum 5.3)/4L65E. We are using 799 Texas Speed Heads, Summit stage 1 ghost cam, flat tops and shortie headers. Hoping to be in the 400-450 HP area. Not sure on intake yet as I plan you make my own engine mounts/transmission mounts.
Thanks everyone, cheers

4L65E in G35?
For the rear diff, the OEM vLSD is easily swapped in from G37/G35/350Z/370Z. But, for higher HP than stock you'll want a better LSD than the viscous.
There's a group on Facebook dedicated to LS swapped G's and Zs. I know they have How to's and links on where to buy everything necessary for the swap as well as advice and help with any questions you may have.
Here's the link to that group if you'd like to check it out ---------> Facebook Group LSx Z/G
The car has an auto 5R05 transmission, not a six speed manual. I'm not a fan of the 4L65 or the 4L80E transmission either, but they work well with the LS engine and cheap/easy to find in the wrecker.
Thanks for LSD suggestion. Honestly I wish my son will just find another car to swap the engine into, as he has a low miler G35 coupe that runs perfectly.
Thanks buddy, I just picked up the engine. Its a LS L33 aluminum block, C6 accessory front drive kit and 64cc 799 heads. Gonna be ripping it apart soon. I'll post the build as we proceed.
Just mocking stuff up with a few parts I have laying around my garage. The intake is from an earlier project. Not sure on how the aftermarket exhaust manifolds will work out yet, but will see once I get the motor out of the car.
